BREATHE AND HEAL…

Breathwork is a beautiful catalyst; let the breath do the work.

Immersive healing experiences to help you create an intimate connection with yourself, fill your heart full of love and develop your intuition. Self-love is the key to healing; it grows and gets stronger when you are able to express yourself.

The breath can help you get unstuck, address imbalances, reveal and release beliefs and energy blocks that are holding you back.

Breathwork sessions are…

  • Intentional

All sessions start with grounding supporting you to feel calm. We will do an emotional check in and you will be invited to share what you are looking to release and heal.

For a more tailored breathwork consider a 1:1 session with Kat.

  • Nurturing and Safe

I will hold space for you and support you to feel safe all times during a breathwork session. Breathwork does involve work and to get maximum benefit you are encouraged to work through discomfort although you are free to stop at any time. You are in control.

  • In Tune with Nature

Breathwork sessions will take inspiration from nature, the rhythms of the seasons and a sprinkle of astrology.

Essential oils and sprays, palo santo and sage may be used during sessions. All products used are natural and ethically sourced.

FAQs

CAN ANYONE DO BREATHwork?

I am currently working with adults of all ages. Breathwork is a low risk activity.

I do not make medical recommendations, please consult your GP if you are unsure whether you should undertake an active meditative breathwork session.

You don’t need to have experience of breathwork or meditation to come to a 1:1 or group session.

what will the BREATHwork session be like?

The type of breathwork I facilitate is an active breathing meditation, a form of pranayama. It is a simple technique where you breath deep into your belly, then into your chest and then you breathe out through the mouth. I will guide you how to do this style of breathwork practice.

During the active breathwork I may support you to release stuck emotions by guiding you to scream into a pillow, laugh or make some movement.

Sometimes during a session you may feel warm or cold. It is also possible that your hands will cramp, making a claw shape, they will return to normal. During in-person sessions, with your permission, I may give your hand massage or give you some crystals to hold to help you with this. You may see different colours or shapes, have visions, connect with loved ones, All of these sensations are perfectly normal and natural and a sign that the breathwork is working.

Following the active breath meditation there will be a period of resting breath where you return to your natural breathe.

We will have a check in at the start of the session and you will have the opportunity to ask any questions at the beginning and end.

I play music during sessions.

During in person sessions I use a crystal pyramid and tuning forks to support your healing. I also use essential oils (including applying them on you with your permission), incense and crystals.

For 1:1 sessions you have the option of adding a gong bath at the end of your breathwork session.

WHAT RESULTS CAN I EXPECT TO SEE?

Most of us suppress our feelings which can lead to anxiety, stress, low mood and the storing of emotions in our body and mind. The style of breathwork I use helps quieten the mind, supports the release of emotions and helps you achieve a balanced state.

This breathwork helps you create a deep relationship with yourself, working through the challenges that life has thrown at you in your childhood and adult life. You can programme/reprogramme yourself with self-love and compassion, peeling away layers of conditioning, trauma and truly come home to yourself.

Breathwork can be an intense experience; usually people feel deeply relaxed and light afterwards.

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE for a session?

Please wear comfy clothes and do not eat a heavy meal or drink alcohol/consume drugs before a session.

Online sessions - Please find a quite room where you will not be disturbed. You may wish to light a candle, burn some incense and/or essential oils to help you relax. This is you time. You will need to lie flat; if you have a yoga mat that is ideal. Please do not put a pillow under your head, although please have one near you as you may use one to release a scream during the session. You may wish to use an eye pillow. Your body temperature is likely to drop during the session so you may wish to have a blanket to hand.

WHAT SHOULD I DO AFTER A SESSION?

Please drink plenty of water after your session to help flush out any toxins released during the session, -particularly if you have sweated a lot during the session. You are advised to avoid caffeine and alcohol as these can dehydrate you. You may wish to journal to help you capture your experience and gain clarity. I like to take a candlelit bath with oils, perhaps some rose petals if I have some or take a walk in nature.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I BREATHE?

Breathwork can be used to release something specific or used a part of a regular practice to support emotional regulation. If you are feeling off-balance, out of flow or emotionally challenged a breathwork session would serve you. My mentor Erin Telford says breathe until you forgive your parents, these are wise words.

HOW HAS BREATHwork HELPED KAT?

I first discovered breathwork at a point in my life when it was all getting a bit much. I was flat out with work, my mum was diagnosed with cancer and I was challenged with infertility. I felt hopeless. I did my first session with Anna Marsh and had immediate results. There were emotions that hours of counselling and talking could not shift. I was blown away by its simplicity and its impact. I also love the fact that it is a free tool and something I will always have access to. It is my wish to share this technique with the world and enable people to empower themselves to heal like I did.
